1. Accepting these terms
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) form a contract between you and Cardfolio (“we”, “us”). By creating an account, downloading our app, or using our website at usecardfolio.com, you agree to be bound by them. If you don’t agree, don’t use the service.
You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country, whichever is higher) to use Cardfolio.
2. Your account
You’re responsible for everything that happens on your account. Keep your password private. If someone else gets in, tell us immediately at support@usecardfolio.com. We reserve the right to suspend accounts we believe have been compromised or are being used in violation of these Terms.
3. Acceptable use
Don’t use Cardfolio to:
- Scan or store cards belonging to people who haven’t given them to you.
- Send unsolicited bulk email (spam) to contacts you’ve captured.
- Violate any law that applies to you, including data protection laws (GDPR, CCPA, etc.).
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to disrupt the service.
- Resell, sublicense, or wrap Cardfolio inside another product without our written permission.
4. Subscriptions and billing
Plans & pricing
- Free — 5 scans, no time limit, no card required.
- Pro Monthly — $7.99 per month.
- Pro Yearly — $79 per year.
Prices are in US dollars and exclude any sales tax or VAT, which we add at checkout where required by law.
Where you bought it
- App Store (iOS) — billing is handled by Apple under their terms. Manage or cancel in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
- Play Store (Android) — billing is handled by Google. Manage in the Play Store app under Subscriptions.
- Web (usecardfolio.com) — billing is handled by Stripe. Email us to manage.
Auto-renewal
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before renewal. You can cancel any time and you’ll keep Pro access until the end of the current billing period.
Price changes
If we change prices, we’ll email you at least 30 days before your next renewal. Your current period stays at the old price.
5. Refunds
Apple and Google handle App Store / Play Store refunds under their own policies — you usually have 14 days to request one through them directly. For web purchases through Stripe, email support@usecardfolio.com within 14 days of purchase and we’ll refund the most recent payment in full if the app didn’t work for you.
6. Your content
The business cards you scan, the contacts you create, and the notes you write are yours. You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display that content solely to provide the service to you — e.g., to run OCR on a card image, to display a contact in your ledger, to push it to a CRM you’ve connected. We do not use your content to train AI models.
You promise that you have the right to scan, store, and process every card you put into Cardfolio.
7. Third-party services and CRMs
Cardfolio integrates with third-party services (Hubspot, Salesforce, Zoho, Outlook, Google Contacts, Stripe, Apple, Google, PostHog, Resend). Those services have their own terms and privacy policies. We’re not responsible for their behavior, uptime, or data handling. If a CRM API changes and an integration breaks, we’ll fix it as fast as we can — but we can’t guarantee uninterrupted sync.
8. Intellectual property
Cardfolio — the app, the website, the logo, the editorial design — belongs to us. You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app while your account is active. You don’t get the right to copy, modify, or build a competing product from our code or designs.
9. Termination
You can close your account any time in Settings → Delete account, or by emailing us. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with notice where reasonable. On termination, your data is deleted within 30 days (some billing records are kept longer where required by law — see the privacy policy).
10. Disclaimer of warranties
Cardfolio is provided “as is” and “as available”. AI-based OCR can be wrong. CRM APIs can go down. We don’t warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that every extracted field will be accurate. Always verify before you act on a contact — especially before emailing or calling.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to Cardfolio is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. We’re not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — including lost contacts, lost deals, or business interruption.
Some jurisdictions don’t allow these limitations — in that case, our liability is limited to the smallest amount allowed by law.
12. Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where Cardfolio is operated. Disputes are resolved first by writing to us in good faith. If that fails, exclusive jurisdiction lies with the competent courts of that jurisdiction — unless a mandatory local law in your country says otherwise.
